14 years agoLevel 5I was holding crouch when i did it the first time, but everytime i try to repeat it, i just land normally, kinda annoying me now seing i was able to go from red roof to the far end of the river in one jump. I have tried it with the bind and just holding crouch

14 years agoLevel 10If you kill a flag carrier standing right against the base of the waterfall the flag will go inside the rock base and is un-returnable.

Trying a fix against the pole ladders, should help. The lights are "light bleeding" which I'm not worrying about at the moment. Thanks!A couple of other problems, nothing too major: I got stuck climbing up the traffic lights next to the blue spawn under the highway. I spotted these white lines under the garage, barely noticable but i thought you might want to know.
Also, one time when i jumped off red down to the billboard, i was boosted on untill i hit the edge of the map by the river, havent been able to do it again. TheDamager -
14 years agoLevel 10Progress update. Applying a heavy coat of polish over the map. Tightening up a number of very minor issues. The new jump from hotel at Irwin towards the WoI has finally been perfected - you can hop off the arch and sorta grind over the wall. Breaking up radio locations into more detailed areas. Some texture updates. Hunting down any and all unseen uncaulked faces. Working on vis improvements thanks to $Null. Other stuff. etc etc
Thus far the pre-release has held well in pub play!Only a couple very minor issues found (and fixed). -

14 years agoLevel 11 more bug at least, i checked and it's not on beta4 though so its fixable at least. stand in the opening of the elevator where the doors meet at the top of the elevator shaft in the red building, the doors compltely dissapear, also works in the blue building for the stairs down from the roof.

That's due to the 1 unit thick areaportal brush. It blocks vis. Basically, imagine it as a engine rendering divider or seal - nothing exists (visually) on the other side of it when the doors are closed. It deactivates when the doors open. If the brush doesn't touch all edges, the vis area does not seal and fps pours through. Messy.
Unfortunately I do not know how to split vis at zero units in thickness. The visual anomaly you see only affects yourself, causing all entities to vanish. Make no mistake though, just cause you close your eyes doesn't mean everyone else can't see you... ;)
The reason you didn't see that in b4 is because I implemented the brush incorrectly, rendering it useless, eating fps in the process (since useless polys are being drawn).
Basically, until I'm able to find a better method, just ignore it. :)
