13 years agoLevel 2All right, so, I'm trying to find a definitive guide on how to install a Blu-Ray drive on your computer and what steps need to be taken in order to play BR on said player. So far, I've got a BR player, latest firmware. Updated my graphics card, which is compatible, according to this website. I have a GTX 260M. I've downloaded these drivers, the latest VLC, and unfortunately even downloaded PowerDVD 10 Mark II, which reports it can play even 3D Blu-Rays.
Results: VLC still returns an error,
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd://D:\'. Check the log for details.
Log: Frickin' blank.
Results: PowerDVD loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads.....
....oh, and typically shuts off my Aero effect.

13 years agoAdminTotal ROLF ghozt, and a classic response from Guardian. Love it. But seriously, check for the MS Fax printer that gets installed by default on all systems.
OK, so if you don't already know ... Blu-Ray is is a patented technology, which is why we're forced to buy Power DVD and why M$ wouldn't included play back support in WMP. Assshats. That being said, your Power DVD should have been all you needed without the extra codecs.
Are you bringing that chic back with you?
