14 years agoTue Mar 02 2010, 10:07PMLevel 10The "thumb" buttons ARE above the thumb and can be moved forward or backward on the mouse. They move by way of a slide on the bottom of the mouse which is somewhat difficult to move. As far as the button's sensitivity, I have more problems with them when I'm NOT in game than when I'm in game...that could have something to do with the fact that I haven't bound anything to them in game yet.
For the most part, I like the Imperator over the Copperhead because it fits in my hand better, I like the way it feels better than the Copperhead. Also, the Copperhead has the DPI adjust buttons on the right side of the mouse, where your pinky finger is, and are difficult to use, or at least they were difficult for me to use because I have small hands. On the Imperator the DPI buttons are right behind the wheel/mouse3 button...I don't inadvertently change DPI settings in the heat of a battle like I did with the Copperhead, but it is still easy to do so if I need too.
So, for me, even though the Imperator costs more, it was worth it. -
14 years agoLevel 10There's only one problem with it that I've read. When you pick up the mouse and set it back down the cursor moves to the bottom right. Is it really that bad? Do you notice it in game? I play at a low sensitivity so i pick up my mouse frequently.
Thanks for all the input it's helped a lot =) -
14 years agoLevel 10I've got their DeathAdder (name a mathematician can love) and it's pretty good. I can't imagine a better mouse (maybe more buttons?)
-
14 years agoLevel 10Bingo- DeathAdder here too. If it broke now, I would want another of the same, no need to even try another for me unless it was built the same with better specs... and even then I would be skeptical...

- The problem you are reading about applies to all optical mice. If you have a hard surface/mouse pad with a 2000+ DPI mouse, it will be unforgiving as you lift the mouse off the pad resulting in erratic movements.
- Simply put the Razer Imperator, is only as good as the surface you use with it along with your playing style. If your going to spend the high bucks for the mouse you also need an appropriate mouse pad. -- Mind you the Imperator is overkill for UrT.
- Picking a mouse these days comes down to ergonomics and DPI. You have many options for a mouse.
-=Danks Mouse Pad Info=-
Gaming pads are typically made of fabric or a hard surface such as aluminum. Hard surface pads tend to be more precise but less forgiving.
Mouse Pads I Own:
ExactMat - If you lift your mouse while gaming, you may experience erratic movements . - Note: Hard surface pads are rated the best for high end gaming.
Goliathious - If you lift you mouse while gaming - Goliathious comes in multiple sizes with optional surfaces, Control or Speed and does not become erratic if the mouse is lifted.

14 years agoLevel 10I just got a new mouse pad about a month ago i'm not sure who made it. Its pretty soft, not one of those hard plasticy ones. Not sure how this compares to the Goliathious but it seems pretty nice.
What do you mean by overkill for Urt? -
14 years agoLevel 6I have had the Razer Lachesis for a while now and I too have the same problem Dank does....I tend to lift my mouse up while playing. It may have a lot to do with the fact that I have a hard surface mouse pad. Honestly I am not happy with my razer that I paid $80 for and am considering the Logitech G9 or something similar.

14 years agoLevel 10Logitech G500 came today. Wow.
Played with the buttons, resolution, etc. This is not your mama's mouse.
Only problem with it is when I go into a game and start playing, it looks up at me, scowls, and I'm pretty sure I can hear it mumble 'freakin noob...' just before it accelerates all on it's own and kills 3 enemies. -
14 years agoLevel 10Ordered the mouse and the Goliathious. CompUSA has their mouse pads $5 cheaper and they gave me free shipping. =)
