------------- Photo Shop tips ------------
though I love the cartoon like effects here is a few tips with photoshop.
-When colorizing a photo I find it useful to modify the layers blending mode.
(found in the layers window - as shown in the pict)
-Also if you double click on the layer you want to modify in the "layers window", you can modify the layers blending options. The blending options have allot of effects that could otherwise be difficult.
- I will also use layer masks to hide ares of a layer i dont want to see, instead of predominantly deleting it. Goto Layers in the main menu then select Reveal Layer Mask, - You will then see an additional box in the Layers window for the layer you have revealed the layer mask for. Simple use a black Pen/Brush to hide areas of the layer you dont want exposed. Black is 100% transparent and White is 100% opaque. any between variation will adjust the level of transparency.
PS. again I love the cartoon effect - the image. Anyway im sure you know this already though some one else may find it usefull -

13 years agoSun Feb 20 2011, 08:23AMLevel 10dank...when doing something as a joke, and I don't want to spend more than about 10 or 15 minutes on something, I hope it DOES look cartoony. Although I use PhotoShop almost every day at work, I have never had any real training. If there's something one of us wants to do but don't know how, they usually ask someone else until they get an answer. I apprecaite the tips, tho. I'll surely look into that. I usually work in grayscale, but sometimes color.
I have 7.0 @ home but I use CS2 @ work. Soon to be CS5 extended, we hope. What version has all of those features that you mentioned? -
13 years agoMain AdminKnowing you have been apart of WilyDucks map Dev team I certainly knew you had a lot of photoshop experience, along with fully realizing this was a joke image. Just thought I would take an opportunity to provide some tips to help advance the readers PS abilities.
I too use PS-7.0
- Im a complete layers whore, all my PS images are compiled of a series of layers utilizing PS's basic built in functions. Personally for me once I figured out how to use the Layer filters and Layer masks things fell into place with my knowledge of PS.
- Anyway, I will stop force feeding my tips and offer up some tips is requested.
PS. still love the moped image, it rocks. -
