Level 1I just wasted 45 bucks on another headset. It sucks! The sound is real tinny. :@ The brand is Altec Lansing...I believe they call it their "studio" style. It's the AHS515 with an in-line volume and mic volume control. They have deep earcups and a mic. At least they don't hurt my ears though. What brand headset does everyone use? Do you have a headset/mic combo, or do you have a mic seperate from your headset? What is a good brand with good stereo sound? I'd like to be totally immersed in UT and not have a whole lot of ambient noise coming in...any ideas?

18 years agoLevel 4let's see.... I use a sennheiser USB compatible headset... paid too much for it probably... and it looks tacky, but for the most part, it's comfy and I can enjoy a pretty full imersion in the game.

18 years agoMain AdminI use a Bose headset with a external mic.. If your going to play first person shooters i think you need a good mouse and set of headphones.. I've never found a good headset, Mic/headphones combo.

18 years agoLevel 10i have the Altec ahs502. it's a mic/headset combo. i've had it for a couple years, and it's worked out pretty well. good highs/lows. i use the mic to dictate with Dragon naturally Speaking, and it's works well there too. ALTHOUGH, after a few hours of playing, it starts to hurt the rims of my ears. (and i don't look like Dumbo either)

Level 2Me Dierth and Abol all use the same kind... Logitech headset/mic combo... again probably not the best... but the sound in teamspeak seems to be great from end to end... also, I can hear everything in the game pretty well. Pretty good price from what I can remember and it comes with interchangeable "ear plates" to change the color... RED ORANGE and BLACK.

17 years agoLevel 5I use a Logitech USB headset. I got a second larger set, but the treble on it is not what I like, so I stuck with the smaller set. Now the other one is just sitting there, a waste of $50 cuz I lost the receipt.

Level 1http://www.steelseries.com/products/steel_sound
I used the Steelseries 5H, mine is the model without the USB soundcard. I already have a pretty nice onboard sound so I didn't need it
They are great, very comfortable but it squeezes my head a little more than I like.
If these ever give out I am going to get the new fatal1ty headset that is coming out. not because i'm a fanboy but man i tried them at the CPL and they felt great and sounded unbelievable -
16 years agoMain AdminPlantronics GameCom Pro1
Hey guys,
I purchased a new headset a couple of months ago and really like it. Great sound, Volume control, noise reduction mic, light wieght, and comfortable. I don't get the "hot" ears or the pressure that can cause headaches. Now I know that everyone is different and some may not care for this model as much as I do, but I rate it a 9/10. Plantronics GameCom Pro1 $44.99 I paid $69.99 at CompUSA:-(
