First off, sorry for getting this out later than usual. For 2015 we will continue to keep the festivities at the Buzzkill Casa for the food and games and will work to put together a lake day at Canyon Lake the following day. The basic schedule and dates are as follows
Basic Itinerary
• Friday, May 22, 2013 (arrivals and evening welcome social, Location is TBD) (6pm -11pm)
• Saturday May 23, 2013 (BBQ, Games (details to come) and fun) (11am - whenever)
• Sunday, May 24, 2013 (Lake day, sunbathing boating etc...) (10am - dark)
Thursday May 23: (For those that want an extended vacation)
Morning through Evening – Flight Arrivals – If you Opt to arrive early you are pretty much on your own. This is a great time to visit some of the interesting area in and around the Austin Area.
My recommended hit list:
• Gruene Texas - Dining, Shopping, and Gruene Hall (live music at the oldest standing dance hall in Texas)
• Wimberly Texas - Shopping, Art Galleries, Wimberly days, Wimberly Brewery and Brewster pizza.
• Fredericksburg Texas - Art Galleries, Wineries and tasking rooms, The National Museum of the Pacific ware (formerly the Nimitz Museum (VERY IMPRESSIVE))
• San Marcos The biggest outlet mall in America. Makes my checkbook hurt just thinking about it.
• Austin, Buda, Kyle host of other fun places to shop and visit
Friday May 22: (informal meet and greets)
6pm till 11pm -- Informal met and greet and cooking prep. – TBD This will end semi-early for the cooks based upon the fact that the cooks will be up around 4am to get the pits started.
5pm till dark – Resource Planning and Set-up – BuzzKill’s house and abroad – For any of that goes smoothly best of the planning and resource gathering. The early part of Friday will be just that. During this time we will be setting up Shade Areas, setting up the games, and prepping meats and sides for the next day's meal and events
Saturday May 23:
4am – 6am (cooks only) – The cooks will wake up and get to cook’in that awesome Texas barbecue.
11am to whenever (everyone else)—All BBQ day
The Menu: Eat drink and be merry (all day) Main course served around 2-4 pm
Meats
• 2 Large Smoked Briskets
• Pork, Beef and Venison Sausage
• Pork Ribs
• Smoked Chicken (Whole and Thighs)

Level 1I might be interested in meeting some of y'all fine people behind the keyboards... It's not prohibitively far for me.

9 years agoAdminI have come to four of these BBQ's, one prior to being in FSK405. I live in the northern part of Idaho. It's a 3200 mile trek for me and I've brought family every time. DGrunt has been 2 or 3 times as well. Anybody that lives in less than 3200 miles is required to show. Got that?
In all seriousness, many ppl come from many different directions over a great distance. It is a fabulous few days that cannot be compared to. You won't regret it, regardless of what it takes to get there. FSK405 knows how to throw down a good time, and Buzz and the wife are splendid hosts. You MUST come and experience the fun of funs.
In case you've never been, 6th|russa put together a most spectacular video compilation of events. Kudos to russa. Very well done.

Level 1Awesome video. At the beginning I got scared that my TeamSpeak was on somehow. :D Will there be a video this year? Do I need to prepare for a closeup?
Reflux, I think your radius includes Canada & Mexico... Was this intentional? -
9 years agoAdminWe do try to discourage Canadians.
