About 32 players can join in to play Bad Company 2 Beta for PC
Electronic Arts' DICE Studio has announced the dates for its upcoming game Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC beta. Bad Company 2 PC Beta begins no January 28 and ends on February 25. Bad Company 2 is a direct sequel to the first game and is built on the Frostbite game engine. The beta would be available from the Beta Page and also Steam.
DICE will give out Port Valdez map that can accommodate up to 32 players in Rush Game Mode. The environment is snowy, which reminds of the Project IGI 2 demo that had the same environment, albeit, it wasn't a multi-player game. Here's the description at Port Valdez:
The battle for Port Valdez is fought alongside the waterline towards a great oil industrial landscape in the Alaskan mountains. Using basically everything they've got the Russian forces are launching an airborne assault to knock out the oil industries in the area. In their arsenal there are Main Battle Tanks as well as fast-moving Quad Bikes and mobile armored AA. It's a vehicle focused battle, but with plenty of infantry combat.
No cheating on the servers and no mod tools would be supported. DICE in the blog post mentions about the dedicated servers and server files won't be distributed. To take part in this beta, you can pre-order a copy of Bad Company 2 from the EA Store as of now.
