Donations to a non-profit

Was wondering if FSK405 is registered as a non profit or charity? If so could the document be posted as a sticky? It would be really great if I make a donation to this awesome group and in turn be able to file the donation with next year’s taxes.

If not, I'll donate anyway.

Great idea, but Ghozt would be the one to correctly answer this question.

I asked my accountant that question and here's what he said:

As far as a nonprofit,

You would be taking a huge recordkeeping burden, plus there is a very long application to fill out. You also must have a legitimate charitable purpose.

Oh Well, guess it was worth the question

I own a couple of Montessori schools, which qualify for 501B charity tax exemption status....and I'll tell you me you me you: the paperwork and taxes are a f*ing nightmare.

F2!!!

However...I think a 501A non-profit can get away with more since you aren't trying to avoid sales tax etc... Look into that.
