Cannot Connect to 207.44.182.28:27960

Hello Fellow FSK405 Admins,

Just want to say your server is tops as I have been playing it for over 4 years now quietly and recently seemed to cannot connect to 207.44.182.28:27960 but can connect to Superman.

I am not sure if it's a problem over my end or being banned as I updated my PB just last night and experienced the problem. I also read your forums about tking and I might have accidently killed a player once as it always happens when you're a hopeless player like me and apologized about that to the other person as always.

My IP is 192.168.1.10 thanks

You may be having a problem on your end. I kicked you from the server yesterday from being in spec on a full server. You were in spec for about 5-10 minutes before I gave you the boot. If you were banned, you shouldn't be connected long enough for me to be able to kick you.

I am pretty sure you are not banned, and not really working on one, but I don't know for sure.

Hello Mr Earl,
Thanks you for the quick reply, I can connect to many other servers (ie 69.90.115.67:27960 Superman or 144.140.155.122:27970 Game Arena without any issue but everytime I connect to the 207.44.182.28:27960 even with only 14 players (not full) as soon as the game loads and I see people running around, I get the words connection interruption etc and can see 2 red bars on the status screen before everything pauses.

I really do not know what else it could be as I haven't had any config changes and had the same problem before and after I had updated PB since yesterday.

PS No worries about booting in spec mode, I must have been trying to connect and walked away. Yesterday was quite a full server. Hope you can have a look at the logs and provide some idea... is it perhaps my nick which is long?.. I have changed it to Eureka but to no avail. Thanks again Mr Earl.

You need to go to this site and record within this forum post your true ip. The ip of 192.x.x.x was your NAT address given to you by your router. Anyway, go to whatismyip.com and list your ip.

Hi Murrfrog, thanks for the help, my ip address is 220.233.29.164. It seems 2 secs into the game once connected, the screen comes up saying something like connection interruption. Something to do with PB perhaps?, thanks for looking into this for me.

Eureka or sometimes known as XXXXXXXXXX

I'm not sure if it is of any consequence, but I was playing when I saw you trying to play and and connect repeatedly...your pings were very high (250+) Is this normal?

It may be that you are just having connection problems between your location and the server?

Just a thought.

Hey Rubber, good to see you, I was hoping someone noticed me trying to log on. Because I am in Australia I usually get pings around the 220 to 250 mark so that's normal.
I tried connecting about 5 mins ago and it said I was banned from the server. Hmm... really don't know what's happening.
Can someone shed some light cuz I don't know what's happened at all. Maybe banned cuz I have been trying to connect repeatly even though it looks like I am there but actually I am not.

Thanks again guys.

Hey xxxx check your cfg file and make sure that all lines that say punkbuster have a 1 next to them. I had the same problem when pb updated for me too.

Hey XXXXXXXXXXX,

I'll Check your guid against our ban list to see if you are on it. It'll take a few days as I am still on vacation. You might be able to get Ghozt attention who has access to the ban file.

IT FINALLY WORKS!!!!..... Seems like FireKiller had the antidote. For anyone that might have the problem like myself, just go into the cfg file, open it with NotePad, search for "Punk" and change any zeros to a 1. Save and it should work.

Thank you FireKiller, Murrfrog, Big RubberCock, FSK405 Earl for your support.

I had to also change my nick from xxxxxxxxxxxx to Eureka maybe cuz of the name length... oh well...

Glad everthing is working for you now. Oh, I'm also glad you changed your name from XXXXXXXXXXXX to something easier.

Hi Fellow FSK Followers,
There was a simple reason why I came up with xxxxxxxxxxx, it was because everytime I shot someone dead, I was always unsure whether I got the kill..... so instead of always pressing the ~ button to get the log each time I could basically catch the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx from the corner of my eye when the information came up.

Hope this hasn't caused anyone any pain.

Hard to kick you by counting the XXXX's so I have to use PB kick which is a five minute ban instead of you being able to reconnect after you come back from being AFK.

murrfrog it's much easier to do a /playerlist and kick by the slot number...no?

Frog, Mon Jan 15 2007, 06:27PM

Yeah but using the pb_kick means a five minute ban as that’s how FSK pb is setup. I like to kick using rcon instead so people can rejoin immediately for AFK'ers. Dank enlightened me on a command to use with rcon: clientkick slot# Never heard of clientkick, as I have always used: kick playername
So, it’s made it easier to admin the servers. Can you imagine trying to count the xxxxxxx’s?
