Hi I still have the source code to ut_laberinto and would like to update it to address some of the issues. I have started a thread on urbanterror.net at http://www.forums.urbanterror.net/index.php/topic,6951.0.html

Please add any comments you have about improving this map to that thread. I have offered to donate it to urban terror but I can also make the improvements myself.

Love this map...... the only request I have is to do away with the edge of the water cheat/glitch... OH and we need a button next to the red flag that when depressed makes the church steeple fall on the #$%@ camper using it to snipe/camp the red exit. 8)

I gave this map file to the devteam. I don't know if anyone is working on it or not. I don't have the time at the moment but I will check on the urban terror forums and see what I can find.

I don't think anything has been happening with this. The guy who was working on it seems to have given up. I wouldn't mind doing something with it myself but it would not be in the next month. If someone has mapping experience and is interested in porting it to ut4 let me know.

Only reason i stopped the work on Laberinto was for a couple of reasons:

1) The QA team wasn't interested in any of the builds. Nem and 4D were the only ones giving input. Granted some of my modifications were over the top but i felt they didnt take away from the gameplay but added something to it. Maybe i was wrong, but when Casa was the only map that ever appeared on the QA server, i felt that no body was interested and thus abandoned the map.

2) Some of the changes were "too much" for some members (and of course the original mapper, witch i hold a high reguard to since i love this map). I refuse to change something that would piss the original mapper off, so i was stuck in between a rock and a hard place. In order to achieve the 4.0 requirements some areas of the map would not werk without a ton of modifications. I addressed as many of the bugs, errors, peeves, errors, etc that were posted in the forums. Granted some of the textures needed some working to get to look right, and still havn't had a chance to update em to look alot better.

3) No matter what i did, someone wasn't happy with my changes. All the models i made specifically for Lab, some didn't like, while others loved it.

So with no further ado, and if it's ok with 4d and wily, i'd like another chance to test laberinto. I could upload what i have done sofar and have everyone take a look on my changes

Awesome map... i would like to play it in 4.0, especially with the improved hit detection. i can camp for hours on end with that map. It's very original, and doesn't look like any other map I have ever played. someone really put a lot of time and effort into this, and i would hate to see it all go to wast3.

Wily... you brought us Superman.... you gave us Pac-Man... You had sex with Frog. You can do anything man... step up. Or 4D... or whoever.

Sinni it should be possible to include 2 different versions of the map in the pk3, perhaps with daytime lighting and with the original textures (tweaked as necessary) and the other with your 1940s nighttime theme.

I just think some of the gameplay problems are more important than revising the textures. Also the map needs detailing work regardless of the textures. And of course I liked the original textures for the most part but it doesn't matter much to me if people would prefer a different theme.

I got rid of the night theme a while (after some playing with 4 ppl it was very difficult to see) i belive i changed it to something close to the original sky. I also think i changed a few of the textures back to textures that are similar to the original. I'll dig through my maps folder when i get home tonite. I'll send you a pm if i can find the latest build and upload it to my web server and send u the link

while i never really care much for bigger (sniper) maps, i like Laberinto. like B said, it has character or something to it. i hate snipers...because i can't snipe :'(

Intermodal is playable for the most part. If someone has basic knowledge of mapping im sure you could make quick work fixing a couple doors and lighting..

PLEASE NOTE: FSK will support any ut4 map.. And a BIG thanks to all that are helping to provide them

Well one issue may be that all the maps I did were with q3radiant not gtkradiant. I'm not sure if it will load properly in gtkradiant. These were also very reliant on vis to remove the hidden scenes because they are large maps. I may start a thread about this on the urbanterror forums.

no news on intermodal. i have not had time to work on the map. im still tring to get gdkradiant 1.5 tweeked for ut4 and release a patch for it. I have no idea about laberinto.

Ok I am going to see what I can do with Laberinto tonight and tomorrow. Seems to be successfully compiling for me.

If it's not a hassle to fix this for UT4 I may try to convert intermodal as well but time constraints probably preclude that.

Seriously fourdee, FSK and friends know your map so well because we have played so many times. I would ask once you get it playable then lets lock down one of our servers, limit the downloads to people that WILL delete your test map and really give it a go. Thats the best feedback that you could really ask for. A group of dedicated people that love third party mappers and supporting them. We are currently helping SleepingGuy with Island, super fun map. If we do this on a Friday night we can really test some playability scenarios such as new flag placements etc.. We have done this for Ducky, Ateup, ShadowDragon and many more. Do you have TeamSpeak?
