I got the Floyd reference in the first post as I am a long time fan :) . I heard they were going to tour without Roger Waters but I had no idea David Bowie had filled in. Awesome.

Pink Floyd isn't Pink Floyd without Roger Water, he wrote most of the songs and theme albums. Poor syd barrett

Other members of the band contributed a lot in the writing as well. Waters probably did more than any of the rest. The vid I posted was from 2006. "Remember that Night-Royal Albert Hall". The keyboardist Richard Wright died in 2008 from cancer. In this concert (available on youtube), he was joined by David Crosby and Steven Stills (as backup vocalists). Trumpetist (Cornet), Robert Wyatt gives a great sound to one of the songs. Worth watching. Wyatt is confined to a wheelchair, having fallen off a balcony during a wild party many years before. Steve DeStanislao on drums is having a ball the whole time.
According to wiki...Gilmour has "lost the will" to continue to tour. He plays a mean sax on the vid as well as slide guitar and some steel guitar. He enjoys flying planes.
I just hope that the 3 remaining members get together one more time, but when interviewed in 2006, when asked about their future, Gilmour explained that the band was finished making music, and that at the age of 60 he preferred to work on his own. Since then, both he and Waters have repeatedly insisted that they have no plans to reunite with the surviving former members.
Oh, and the strap that he uses belonged to Jimi Hendrix.

I saw Pink Floyd in 1988 and again in 1994.
Both shows were incredible, but of course they were without Roger Waters by then.
I had the good fortune to see him on his Wall tour a couple years ago, and he put on an amazing show.

Those three concerts rank in my top five of all time.
