Automatically Show FPS

If you want to show your FPS on screen and are tired of having to type it in the console each time you start the game:
Go into the folder BF4 is installed in, usually here - C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4
create a file with notepad/wordpad named user.cfg
Add this line:
perfoverlay.drawfps 1
Save it.
Next time you start BF4 you should see FPS displayed.

Wow, works for me in this folder -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4
Maybe shutdown Origin if you leave it running all the time? See if that picks it up on next startup.

ok here is what you do make a "user.cfg" file with notepad and put that in your bf4 folder and then put your "perfoverlay.drawfps true" in that just like you do in urt, except you name it user.cfg instead of autoexec.cfg, then you can put all types of commands in there and it will start every time you start the game, it should work. it works for me and works in bf3 also. But it has to be a cfg file not a text file.

That's the only thing I can think of, is that if you have in windows, known file extensions hidden, you have actually created a file named 'user.cfg.txt' instead of user.cfg. Look at the file in Windows Explorer and see if the TYPE shows as a CFG file or a Text Document. It should be CFG file.
