Battle Rant By: risk
Scrim Settings: (Settings per FSK405 Member Discussions)
  • FSK405 members have the right to ask minors to sit out.
  • Server Password changed.
  • FSK405 members are allowed to Spectate if teams are even and a match is in progress.
  • Balanced Teams Required unless the captains choose otherwise. If there are an uneven number of available players the facilitator will ask for a volunteer to Substitute. If no player volunteers, the captains will select a player. Substitutes will be logged to insure no one is a consistent SUB. (NOTE: SUB's can be a valued asset to a team being the eyes, ears, and voice of the team dont view it as a punishment.)
  • All above settings can be modified per captains approval.
  • TS3Players will NOT move themselves to the "Staging -LOCKED-" channel; Please allow the Facilitator(s) to move you.
  • Role will be called prior to each round, and players will be moved to Staging -LOCKED- channel by a Facilitator upon player confirmation.
  • Once players have been moved to the "Staging-LOCKED-" channel, all (confirmed) eligible players are locked in. If teams are uneven, FSK405 members have first dibs.
  • Captains have ~10 minutes for strats; if more time is required, please inform a Facilitator
  • All players must have a *proper* connection
Pre-rant: Nobody said that change was painless, but the much delayed switch to 4.2 seems to be going well so far. Thanks for everyone’s patience with the transition. We started out playing a small, desert map with barely enough water to drown a chipmunk, moved on to a medium sized desert map with even less water than that, and finished on a large map with enough water to drown an airplane. All three rounds were decisive victories, but not blowouts. Round 1: Jihad Facilitator: fudaddy SUB: -none- Red Captain: risk Blue Captain: Tanq Red = 05 Blue = 01 Overview: Tanq vs. Risk in a middle-eastern holy war, strap on their “paradise vests” and go to battle. Risk on red chooses a team name with absolutely no association to the map theme, and Tanq on blue does the same. Tanq’s blue SWAT team makes an early challenge by owning the high ground above red base and almost gets the flag out in a smoky haze, even getting a brief spawncamp. Risk’s red Tropic Thunderbirds regroup quickly though, and score two fast caps. Lots of action happened out on the street, but the middle was filled with shrapnel and bullets pretty much non-stop. The T-Birds never let up on their advantage and built a 4 -0 lead, when late in the game SWAT put the tunnels to good use and avoided the shutout. Final score 5 – 1.
Round 2: Tunis Facilitator: risk SUB: -none- Red Captain: fudaddy Blue Captain: Frog Red = 00 Blue =03 Overview: Fudaddy and Frog continue the desert theme in a round two grudge match. You would think that an amphibian would not do well in such dry conditions, but Tunis ended up being Frog’s happy little pond. Fudaddy chose a chicken as his spirit animal and paid the price. I would love to give you a breakdown of this round, but I spent most of it dead. If anyone has details they want to offer, that would be great. All I know is that blue struggled to keep red out of their base, and hardly ever touched the red flag.
Round 3: Eagle Facilitator: fudaddy SUB: -none- Red Captain: Dgrunt Blue Captain: Tanq Red = 00 Blue = 05 Overview: Dgrunt, with not quite enough players for the Dirty Dozen, takes on Tanq who captains up for the second time tonight. Tanq sticks with the chicken totem hoping that its voodoo will recover from the previous round, and allow him to peck his enemies to the netherworld. Miracle Max advises to have fun storming a castle, and that is just what Tanq’s blue Chicken Legs did. The Filthy Few forgot that most of them die in The Dirty Dozen, even if they do blow up the Germans. They took the train tracks a couple of times, but couldn’t survive to rendezvous in the red pub. Risk enjoyed playing Spy vs. Spy in the castle with Nikki, who eventually got her ‘slice’ of the action. Tanq evens up his record tonight by steamrolling to a 5 – 0 victory. Good game Filthy Few – maybe the sequel will treat you better.

Edit: Frog won round 2. I'll let you pass this time Risk as you are right, you were dead most of the time and weren't sure what was going on.

Typo is now fixed.
Thank you for your support.

I have played that map maybe three or four times ever, and only during a scrim, when it is tough to learn anything.

Plus, my captain kinda sucked. ;)

Chicken Legs indeed. Sheesh.

I thought the first map was a little dark anyway. I upped the gamma, but still dark.
I think we should protest the first match because clearly, the respawn was not set to 14 seconds.
Also, the only cap that we got did not utilize the tunnels. I had just grabbed it when my team called time out. I was in mid air leaping over the car on your left. I can tell by the chat in the video that no one realized I had it, so was able to shoot two of you in the back, and got good support/cover from my team.

I so wanted to play Tunis all night long. I've never head shotted fu-daddy so much, EVAR.

1) Turn corner
2) See fu-daddy
3) Pull trigger
4) Headshot fu-daddy
5) Repeat as necessary

I agree Risk. Captain sucked round 2. I mean, why would he choose someone who dies 39 times in 20 minutes??? =]

Reflux, I swear I had red and white circles blazing on my head. Hit me here! Hit me here! I did have fun turning the corner and spamming the guy crouching outside the library. No doubt this was a Frog strat. Take a position and hold it, who does that?

Anyone else have blood and gore off but see blood spurt when you hit someone?
