Aliasing

It's happened way too much that admins join the server aliased. This creates problems. It's sort of a like a really beautiful woman, who KNOWs how beautiful she is, and walks into a building, or a room, simply because she thrives on the attention. It seems to be the same way with some admins. I don't care if you are using a new Qkey, a new B3 ID, a new IP,or what ever reason you do it, just don't. There are some who play aliased about 90% of the time. If you are any good at the game, of course, other admins are going to alias you, or look you up, or ID you. Then, it's a game where the aliased admin eventually gives in and it's "you got me". It stands to reason that if you're good then others are going to suspect you may be a hacker, and since they don't recognize your name, they move to spec to observe and maybe record. It just sucks all around, please don't do it.

I have to say I join aliased a lot - there have been many a hacker caught because they havent noticed an admin is speccing them. If you're a regular player with hacks on a hotkey here you're not gonna turn your hacks on when you see FSK405|Boogie|{night is in spec :)

With roughly half of the Superman population as admins it seems a little far fetched that most hackers will not be caught. There have been lengthy conversations about how a good player with reasonable intelligence will probably NEVER be caught. The ones who get caught are the noobs who don't know how to tweak it and when to use, or not use it. The obvious ones.
We've alos asked to not "witch hunt". Don't join the server with the idea that you are Sherlock Holmes and you are going to catch that bad guy. (the collective YOU).
If, during a game, you suspect a cheater, spec and demo.
Yes hacks on a hot key. I suppose that's how they work. They can use or not use them just by pressing a key.

Id know how much time i wasted adiasing admins . Should be no need to come in superman aliased when 95% of hackers are new to the server .

if someone can alias you and see who you are, that's one thing, but when players have a new ID and Ip it sucks for rest when you come on aliased.

From the superman Admins Rules Quoted

"Gray Area, If you are a Mod/Admin using a alias mouthing off, you may have to deal with another Mod/Admin taking actions on you. If you are going to admin the server you should represent yourself with your main online name."

I see what you mean Boogie, thought you were referring to just using a different alias, rather than IP / ID. The latter I fully agree should not be done by admins. Admins should not be hiding from other admins!

I read this as if you are doing anything to admin the server, do it as the proper alias. I do not read this as only play as a single alias, only to admin while being the proper alias.

All that I'm saying is if you acquire a new B3 Id, a new IP, or new Qkey, register with the server and ask to have your admin rights for that ID. Problems arise when admins are completely incognito and it is impossible for other admins to ID you. There is no need to have more than one ID unless you are a high level admin. I thought that I made this clear. It doesn't mean never alias. There are a few that hardly ever play with their original name and are almost always aliased. I thought you came to play the game (UrT), NOT guess who I am.
