Scrim Settings: (Settings per FSK405 Member Discussions)
  • FSK405 members have the right to ask minors to sit out.
  • Server Password is changed.
  • FSK405 members are allowed to Spectate if teams are even and a match is in progress.
  • Balanced Teams Required unless the captains choose otherwise. If there are an uneven number of available players the facilitator will ask for a volunteer to Substitute. If no player volunteers, the captains will select a player. Substitutes will be logged to insure no one is a consistent SUB. (NOTE: SUB's can be a valued asset to a team being the eyes, ears, and voice of the team dont view it as a punishment.)
  • All above settings can be modified per captains approval.
  • TS3Players will NOT move themselves to the "Staging -LOCKED-" channel; Please allow the Facilitator(s) to move you.
  • Role will be called prior to each round, and players will be moved to Staging -LOCKED- channel by a Facilitator upon player confirmation.
  • - Once players have been moved to the "Staging-LOCKED-" channel, all (confirmed) eligible players are locked in. If teams are uneven, FSK405 members have fist dibs.
  • Captains have ~10 minutes for strats; if more time is required, please inform a Facilitator
Round 1: Mastermind (fix) Facilitator: KittyWumpus* SUB: -None- Red Captain: AceTone Blue Captain: Pmac Red = 16 Blue = 01 Overview:. This week, it was Unbalanced Teams! With the first week of FTW Competition underway today, we had a slightly later start, but still managed to have a great turnout... thanks to everyone for showing!!!
With an odd number of players, I threw a few ideas on how to handle that to the captains. They chose to: pick a map that favors one side (typically), and allow that Captain to have the extra player. All decisions were made by the captains, and teams were agreed to be cool by both Captains. In this case, Red had the extra player, and this proved to be a primary component for a very solid win on Red's part. No whining from anyone that I heard.. still a great game IMO.
Round 2: Turnpike Facilitator: KittyWumpus* SUB: -none- Red Captain: Sasquatch Blue Captain: Yeti Red = 05 Blue = 06 Overview: Battle of the Brothers!!! Really good round! Sasquatch said he won the last Brother v Brother, and Yeti won this one (by the skin of his teeth! hahaha).. we need to have a 3rd round guys!
This round started off unbalanced, with Blue afforded the extra player, and the Captains decided that if a player arrived at some point during this round, they would be placed on the Red team. FSK405|A showed up several minutes in, just after Yeti Sub'd himself to relieve the point difference. Yeti back active, A joined.. and we were off! Second half of this round consisted of Red catching up a bit, but not until we got to have a few flag stand-offs. Great round, well fought!!!
Round 3: Poseidon (fix) Facilitator: KittyWumpus* SUB: -none- Red Captain: Dgrunt Blue Captain: Littlefoot Red = 05 Blue = 04 Overview:. Great round again! This time, unbalanced for the entire round.. sort of. Littlefoot had Blue, and since Blue has a color advantage, Red was given the extra player. Unfortunately, even though Littlefoot had A with his goggles, Red seemed to be winning with a 4-0 run. I decided I would Sub to even things up, and Blue quickly caught up. Maybe I should have stayed Sub to keep things even, but..
Round 4: Abbey Facilitator: KittyWumpus* SUB: -none- Red Captain: FuDaddy Blue Captain: BanMe!!! Red = 013 Blue = 09 Overview:. Yes, you read that right.. Round 4!!!
With the FTW matches completed, several players filtered in, only to find that we had completed our 3 rounds already. Since enough people desired yet another round, and since we had two players wanting a grudge match.. Game ON!!!!
We were headed into yet another unbalanced teams round, but a last minute straggler came in and teams had to be adjusted slightly. As per the captains' agreement: BanMe! whined, a trade was made, and we were off! Really fun round. Red was off to a great start, but seemed to mellow a little toward mid-round. Blue grabbed several, cap'd a few of those, and it looked like this round would be close.. and then Red found their reserves and rolled out enough caps to guarantee a win. I would LOVE to see a Captain rematch between these two!!!
Great Scrim again this week!!! Thanks to all who showed!!! And once again, a reminder: Despite FTW League having matches on Sunday evenings, FSK405 will absolutely continue to do the Sun Scrim!!! Same bat time, same bat channel!!

I'm not the person trying to start shit on the results thread. Now we know two things you aren't very good at.

Boogie Knight, Mon Jul 11 2011, 06:24PM

Just gets boring when you try to make every thread about you and how great (in your in little mind) that you think you are. There other players that enjoy Sun scrims yet they are more concerned about the team they are on and THOSE results, instead of some childish "Look at me" BS. What did your daddy do (or NOT do to you when you were growing up?). Giving you credit here for being still in the process.

I pointed out that Sunday night scrims are a TEAM event. Where is the moaning? I wasn't aware of the sparring that supposedly took place between Fu and Ban (just like 95% of the rest of us). I f he is on a losing team he hates it so much that he needs to point how his score is actually the best. I'm saying how it looks when posted here. Not how it looks to the two or three who were present when picking teams.

fu daddy, Tue Jul 12 2011, 06:57AM

Ugh. Sally...you must understand that posts like that will make some people mad. For people who don't know, we had some fun sparring before the match where we spoke about each other's mothers and said a few curse words regarding life in general and how we were going to hunt down the other (in game of course). That's really all there is to it and it's probably why Sally posted that regarding his score.

kkboiz back to teh match. anyway...

Gotta say, in regards to the first round on Mastermind that it may not be such an unbalanced map after all.
The extra player on red made a huge difference, allowing snipers to lock down routes while a runner grabbed the flag. It seemed that the tunnels were critical. The high one as the fastest route to cap, and the low one for flag standoffs and Kitty ninja-sneaking into red base.

When Nasty held the high tunnel for blue (my designated route), I felt like I was on the wrong end of Duck Hunt. Every time I peeked over the stairs I had a ten second vision of that damn dog laughing at me while I waited to respawn. I was forced to call several times for our flag runners not to go that way because Nasty was dug in like a tick. Once Pez held that passage for red though, we were able to steamroll several caps together.

The round was actually much closer than the score would indicate, and I would like to applaud Blue Team for their tenacity and sportsmanship.

As for Turnpike on round two, again the extra player was huge, this time for Blue.
Everyone knows this map inside-out, and tactics are well defined.
Once the teams were even, Red staged a big comeback and had Blue on full defense for the final two minutes of the match. I think with another 30 seconds or so on the clock that this one would have gone into overtime.

Great games everyone, and happy trails!

I concur Risk - well stated on all points!

While Blue side may have a slight advantage on Mastermind, an additional player during a 6v7 match is overcompensating Red a bit too much. Maybe with more players, say 8v9 or 9v10, it might more evenly balance teams giving Red the extra. We'll never know how that round would have ended up with even teams - but I'm sure it would have been a LOT closer. (Though I still believe Red would have won - excellent communication and team work guys!) :-)

Extra special thanks to Pmac for being an excellent co-captain and agreeing to play a man down rather than sitting someone out. You took one on the chin Pmac - thanks for that!

Round 2 Turdpipe did not stink! We almost snatched victory away from Blue in that end surge - but alas, a little too little and a little too late in the end. :-(

Great facilitating and rants from Nikki! All I can say is, Fu who? :D

GGS! See ya next time!
