UrbanTerror Freezing
StaggerLee, Wed Apr 28 2004, 12:58PMMy computer is freezing on me when I launch UrT. This happens in single player as well as on-line. I just reinstalled windows, quake3, 1.32 pointrelease. I extracted UrT into quake 3 folder. I launch UrT from Quake3 MODS. I can access the main screen and play with controls and stuff, but when I actually start server and then auto-join, about 3 seconds later it freezes, says something like "quake3 error.... Send Report?/ Don't Send" I can play Quake3 just fine, on-line too. Am I forgetting something? Thanks for any help :? StaggerLee

try a new config, just rename your old one and start fresh.

Heh, I already did that. I basically started completely over when I reloaded windows. Could it be something with the video card? It's been updated. I've been reading other forums where people seem to have a similar problem and some were suggesting new or old drivers. Thanks again

did you adjust your com megs and/or hunk megs in your q3config.cfg? also, what version of drivers? the new ones work fine for me.

post the exact error details....
If the game is freezing when the drawing starts, it's most likely the geforce driver you're using or your system memory. I'd put money on it being the driver.
With that said, go back to the native XP driver and see if the problem goes away. If you are already using the XP driver, download the latest driver from the graphics card manufacturer's website- like Chaintech or Albatron or whoever.
Don't use nvidia's reference driver unless its what the card manufacturer recommends. I've seen the nvidia ref driver cause similar issues.
If ya need help with the driver stuff just ask.

Hehe, got it figured out. First off I didnt have sound installed, second, one of my memory cards wasn't even in right, and there was actually more to update in windows %-6 After all of that it seems to work fine now. Thanks for all your guys help.
