Scrim Settings: (Settings per FSK405 Member Discussions) - FSK405 members have the right to ask minors to sit out. - Once players have been moved to the "Staging-LOCKED-" channel the eligible players are locked in. If teams are uneven FSK405 members have fist dibs. - Server Password is changed. - FSK405 members are allowed to Spectate if teams are even and a match is in progress. - Balanced Teams Required unless the captains choose otherwise. If there are an uneven number of available players the facilitator will ask for a volunteer to Substitute. If no player volunteers, the captains will select a player. Substitutes will be logged to insure no one is a consistent SUB. - SUB's can be a valued asset to a team being the eyes, ears, and voice of the team dont view it as a punishment. - All above settings can be modified per captains approval. creeper you have a good memory.

  • I stated here I was frustrated due to unaccountable players leaving prior to game start and or rage quitting. You were one of many tonight.

  • Here is a link to the round you reference in your rant. As shown in the attached battle rant I was frustrated during that round for the same issue. Players that quit prior or during the scrim.

  • Prior Battle Rant Creeper is referencing: http://www.fsk405.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?47319[/list]

PS. Im going to be starting an official I Hate DankRider web site soon. First 100 members get to toss a flaming bag of shit at my face. Join Now :-) Bottom line you are absolutely right I'm a hypocrite, I have helped facilitate every Sunday scrim for 3 years never missing one scrim. All to insure the community has a place to enjoy a structured battle. Through out the past 3 years I too have had moments of frustration.

PSS.: creeper I freaking Luv you lets hug it out.

I typically don't care for drama, but tonight I sat back and watched. It was pretty unbelievable/lol. I hope some people's actions didn't ruin it too much for the rest of the team. You'll have nights like this.

But that said, I had fun. Filtration felt like an ass kicking, but glad we made a cap. Good teamwork.

Who pick the damn teams the second round? Xp? Wow, it was very unbalance. Second question, how did ban me end up an fsk's team in the third round with it already being very unbalance? I'm glad I missed this night. lol

bs dank, at least link the right match.
and if that IS the right match ... more revisionist history.

because the part where you say paraphrased:

was missing.

you want respect from newbies, ?

PS. I do respect your unflagging enthusiasm for this game. I really really do.

Creeper I sent you a PM. Im not going to do the battle rant drama thats a result of you and others rage quitting. We lost 5-6 players that round even an FSK405 member. As you can see by the screen shot we had 3 blue players go to SUB including myself to even teams. Yes both teams had to try to be reactive due to the mass rage quit.

You have a good point Sasquatch unfortunately this is what happened. It is becoming a common theme that is not only frustrating to the Facilitators but players.

Staging Room Locked: Players were asked if they are available for the next round. Rounds take an hour+, common knowledge.

Captains Were selected and teams were divided.

Prior to match start, Red lost players that didnt want to wait, forcing the facilitators to amend teams with late comers. (now teams were unbalanced due to the captains picks leaving prior to kick off)

Scrim starts as Red appears to be a player down as Blue also had a player go MIA making teams player balanced.

Scrim is underway as Blue had solid strats, good gunners and only one AFK. Blue secured the 50 yard line rolling red into their base. I assume Red had AFK's upon starting allowing us to gain access to their base. Captains never paused the game asking to amend teams so we continued to play.

Red players being rolled with AFK'rs on their team, along with being out gunned do to reactive team modifications. Some Red players got frustrated and rage quit, compounding the problem.

Bottom Line: All of this frustration could and can be avoided. When the Facilitators ask "Is there anyone that cannot play the next round?, and you do not have the time to devote, Dont Play. I doubt any of the Red would have rage quit if we didnt have to amend teams seconds prior to start as players left.

Ok second round I was red captain...
I think we had a GREAT team when i picked them (even though frog and dank were on the same team) but our team had a good chance at winning.
We lost several of our good players before start which really sucked.
After the round started Creeper rage quit and left. In TS we all agreed that blue team was up one but we did not care and just wanted to move on and keep playing.
No one wanted to pause and make it last longer.
Creeper decided he really loves me as a captain and came back, and we played on.
Sorry I wasn't the captain you expected of me :(
XP
Yes we lost, it was unfortunate to lose players. i am sorry some ppl did not have fun, but i know i did! Nothing wrong with a reality check from time to time of a good beating :)

way to pick teams...

everyone goes spec.. and count down the list giving each person a number...then odds- red evens- blue vice versa...

We need to stick to some sort of time limit for
1) Picking teams and map
2) Developing a strategy and READYING up

I didn't think the 1st round was bad at all (timewise), but it got to be 9:45 + here (eastern) and their was no communication between the two teams as to what the delay was. Just a lot of random rambling in TS about everything EXCEPT the match and what was taking so long. After Pmac left and it kept getting later, I quit too, but it was before the match started. We also had people come on very late so, I thought for sure that getting a sub would be no problem.
I had an aura the day before, was tired and had my period (I mean headache). Srry

Understood Boogie and thanks for the post.

- When we have 24+ players as we did last night for round 2, it is and can be a facilitating nightmare. Especially when folks leave after teams have been selected. Each player leaving adds time to manage things causing us all to suffer.

last night was no exception each round takes roughly an hour from start to finish "from the time captains are selected to the time the round ends". All I/We ask if folks are pressed for time and dont know if they can play the full round then dont. Pmac and yourself were top captain picks for your both solid gunners, makes it tough for captains and facilitators to amend teams once you leave.

Dont mean to be harsh but, i think red lost 3 players right before starting time increasing the start delay, that eventually lead to folks rage quitting. None of the players that quit notified a Facilitator only compounding the confusion. Mind you even Blue had players go MIA. Had these players not left, teams would have been skill and player balanced with no rage quitting eliminating all this banter.

NOTES from last nights scrim:
Round 1 Start time was late roughly 8:30est
Round 1 end Time: 9:07est

Round 2 Start Time: 9:47est
Round 2 End Time: 10:07est

Round 3 Start Time: 10:28est
Round 3 End Time 10:48est

Even with the excessive delay each round requires an hour of accountable time.

Tranc3r

Captains select a map 2 teams from the available roster. Then the facilitator flips a coin so decide what team the captains are on. The goal is to have teams with balanced skill set.

I would partially stack one team on purpose in hopes of flipping that team. If I flip for the slightly stacked team it'll be a landslide. If I don't, oh well I'll probably make up the difference. Thats my logic behind that, it wouldn't solve much.

Id rather pick my own teams, thanks. If you want to captain there are months worth of match screenshots to look at. I also have done SOT on a handful of matches so you can see how a majority of us stack up. Decide if you want to be a captain before Sunday if you haven't done it before or haven't done it that much so you can have time to look at that stuff. If you aren't sure who to pick or who plays well together I'm sure a handful of us know and wouldn't mind sharing some info. I'd like to see more people captain scrims. I know I try to pick the same group of people every Sunday because they are awesome...duh...winning. This can get boring after awhile.

I owe the community an apology for the banter, (Point still stands if you can't devote the time to play then don't play. If you have to leave prior or during a scrim notify a facilitator or a captain.)

~ In actuality 6th|floor, Um3, and FSK405 are working towards a solution to reduce the problems we encountered during the scrim.
Our teams being unified, have come up with an innovated solution to provide everyone with a fun structured gaming environment. The system we are developing is almost ready to be reviled in detail. I can assure everyone it will offer a controlled, structured, transparent, gaming system allowing everyone to play, without the usual full servers, and lag. We have put a tremendous amount of time developing and refining our vision for a sustainable way to structure our scrims, and are excited offer it to the community.

Stay tuned for more details for the process is almost complete.

In my mind we simply need to minimize the time between picking teams and starting the round with 20+ players. If strats are minimized, so be it.

I'm very interested in hearing the new guidelines Dank.

Reflux, Tue May 10 2011, 11:51AM

Two known issues that come up every Sunday and are the extreme time killers.

1) People won't pony up to be a captain, so we all sit quietly waiting for some poor dope to get tagged.

2) Once teams are divided up, you have people going AFK with excuses ranging (This is what between matches is for, DUH!), instead of getting strats down and firing up the match.

We need more ppl to captain up, even just for the sake of getting the game rolling. We need ppl to mature up a bit so that the captains can get things in order. There is way too much child's play once teams are divided up. As soon as one player starts mocking the captain, it's a landslide event. If you don't like your team or your captain, get your ass in the saddle on the next round.

I'm like BanMe, I want the winning team and I want to kick butt, but...the best games are those neck and neck matches. If I get on a team that seems outgunned, I'm still pulling my weight.

Tranc3r, Tue May 10 2011, 01:50PM

Now, don't get rid of strats, that's extremely important... I don't like to play like I play in a pub on Scrims, I like to have an organized plan to play from. Strats don't take that long if captains know the map well and their player's strengths.

Boogie Knight, Tue May 10 2011, 04:05PM

It seems like the second round started within a minute or two of my quitting. That's unfortunate. I usually only play the 1st two rounds because around 10:00 I like to relax for about a half hour and catch the news and next days weather before bed. Sometimes the 2nd round has gone past 10:00...no problem. But this is just me, personnaly, I don't expect any special treatment.
If there had been some COMMUNICATION between the captains, and possibly the facilitator, we would have been made aware the match was about to start. It wasn't US (the red team) we had been wondering for several minutes what was up and posted something in the console. Never saw any reply from blue. I was heavy flowing by then.
