What I can offer, being a noob that doesnt make the list:
-Wizard doesn't frequent the forums, and has moved to the netherlands, but we are close friends. Im happy to try and contact him and get him to post in this thread.
-Junior plays a lot of the same time I do, and I can just about get by with french, so can offer to help get him involved, either getting him in the forums or relaying messages from him to arrange it.
I'm also happy to ref the match, not that I anticipate it needing one.
Dyou think it's worth getting the top three runners up involved in case of no shows / drop outs? That way you could ensure a 20 player superman addict game from start to finish.
Shame the list doesnt take into account players who use different aliases a lot (eg devil), would be interesting to see the "true" stats.

I don't know how important the line "mentioned in this thread" is...I'm guessing that the 20 players will be 'chosen' more by availability and interest than the server stats. I'm no elitist!

...as mentioned in the other thread I don't think the gametracker list is that representative. How I made it so far up that list is beyond me (besides the awful lot of time I spent on the server X) ) and there are lots of highly skilled players missing, e.g. BanMe, Ace, Devil, Dexter etc.

thats weird, dexter rarely aliases. I didnt check all the aliases ive used when adminning (i do have a list of every one), but counting the obvious ones it reckons ive only got 137 hours on the server, which seems improbably low.

hrm... interesting... Glad you started this thread.
We can always throw a server up for this. We can use our Sunday Scrim config, record some demos, get some captains, pause game for issues and team balancing, get subs, etc.
If you want to play it in HD Alpha (not the brightest idea), I can get another server up running Sunday Scrim config with UrT HD Aplha 0.2. You can connect now to my box at fsk405.servequake.com:27960 to check your ping. I'll be happy to get a 24/7 Superman only server going.

Tinker, I would suggest editing your first post to give a list of names of whoever is interested, and keep that updated as this thread matures. Emails of all interested would be needed in order to mass email/conversation of those involved more directly. I track this thread, so I get my updates here. But more official mass emailing would help facilitate game times and server info.

Wow it's a good thing I deleted the rest of my original post. You guys really go the distance!
Let me offer a few more suggestions.
- This is intended to be an epic battle. Someone is going home with bragging rights.
- When? The match should be scheduled at least 3 weeks out to ensure appropriate player and server availability.
- Who? If you're signing up, be sure you're at least a superman veteran.
- If the server can handle it, 10-12 players a side, for the first match...
- Half-hour matches? Sounds alright. Best of 3? Last game though, if 1-1, should go to a certain caplimit. We know caplimit struggles are the best of the best games.
- No picking teams. Shuffle x3 once all players are accounted for in the first round.
- Following the games, perhaps later in the day, or following week, etc, the winning team breaks into two teams to combat each other. Repeat until 1vs1. Odd man pulls from their previous team in a 1vs2 case.
These are all suggestions, do what you want with them. :) Hey am I obligated to join? LOL these guys are pretty rough. /me stays under sheila's radar

Tinker is right in one thing, there are to many players interested in the battle, so why not doing a tournament? maybe 4 teams battling each others until we have the finnal battle.

There's at least two different lists going on here. That list I threw up last was meant to be a very imperfect stab at a "List of Titans". It's not complete, to say the least. I'm also not the person to solely write that list...we need some kind of objective measure (good luck at that).

-are known to throw the balance of the server

The other pertinent list is regulars who just want to play a 'superman scrim'.
This could be the top 20 players with the most times played on superman. Who ever's in that top 20 and shows up to game time makes it - any holes left unfilled are filled by those that show up.
Just my .02.

I went through the gametracker list upto rank ~300 and compiled the data of obvious variants of player's names e.g. creeper[Um3] + creeper + creeper|um3 + creeper:um3, as well as aliases I could remember e.g. Bond+CamperKing+Soldier etc.
Obviously that list is far from perfect and IMHO it's nearly impossible to get 100% accurate stats, unless everybody searches that list for ALL of their own aliases and sums up the points. And even then the top 20 will consist of players that spend a lot of time on the server and not include pros like Acehole who might spend a little less time playing but have a score/min of 7.8
So we'd probably have to make 3 list: 1)time&points overall 2)best scores/min 3)former regulars - and build our allstar teams from there.
We just should let every "skilled" (former-)regular know about this match and see who is interested/has time...if we end up with <20 players = 2 teams...if we end up with more like 30 or 40 players...3 or 4 teams ?

Good point about points per minute, but it is still flawed. Not only is there the alias factor to take into account still, but, for an example:
I spend a lot of time in spec watching players / dealing with asshattery. My points per min is low at under 4. However, take the three christmas aliases i used, christmasworm, postchristmasworm, and goodkingwormmas, the average points per minute is 6.19, which puts me higher than Atheist.
There must be some element of luck in there, as of course my christmas aliases are a smaller sample of hours, but i noticed after the holidays that i spent less time in spec over christmas due to the server being busy with lots of admins, and the difference in score per minute is pretty much double.
The specs can be interpreted many ways, that's why I suggest an open invite tournament.

Good point about points per minute, but it is still flawed. Not only is there the alias factor to take into account still, but, for an example:

I did say that admins sit in spec sometime for a long time.
This is flawed, but I think a more accurate picture than just who has the most points. Most time usally = most points. Amongst THOSE players, you can see that their pts/min do not compare to others.
Yes, many players had pts/min sky high, but not many hours. That's why I tried to list players with a reasonable amount of hours and were well known.

i had with aliases like R3l4#0' a score per min from 9-10 but when I look at my nick deviL or Chiko its with luck 7.

Thats hilarious! I was alised for a month as l$lNuTcraKeR around 15 on the list and Squrl who is ALWAYS on is NOT on the list. I think this is going to take some time and lots of effort plus a lot of coordination with time and availability.

So the rest is a case of team devision although it would be nice if we can establish balanced teams, ie, not 1 team of the top 10 players. And arrange the dates, but I'll not get involved with how it is done, I shall trust the admins to work it out
