Lessons learned while training in the chopper.

Here are some things that may help you manager the chopper in the game.. after trying a few things this is what works best for me.

1. Note to self,,, DONT use a joystick. I suck at it.
2. use same keys you normally use for forward and backward as keys for accend and decend.
3. use your normal left and right keys for yaw left and right
4. Use mouse to pitch forward and back
5. I dont use mouse to roll, i found it is much more manageable to use buttons for that " it is easier to hold a button for continous roll than to use side motion of the mouse. i use mouse3 and mouse 4 buttons on my mouse.
6. If you want to be in the air any amount of time.. do not take off without V-SMOKE (FLARES) which is found in vehical section of powerups.
7. deploy the vsmoke with your alternate fire button, mine is rmb.
8. when someone is locking onto you when you are tagged.. it flashes 3 times.. fire the vsmoke before it goes solid or your done.
9. find an empty server with helo's to practice.. hard to practice when you are getting killed at first... because you can do that yourself the first few times pretty good. .
10. I practise on 'Isla Inocentes' because it has two choppers at the start spawn.. if i crash one the other is waiting.

Let me know if you have other tips.

combination of yaw, roll and climb... gets you the fastest turn. Also try yaw and roll at same time in different directions , thats usefull for circleing and targeting. Never stay still , get chopper off the ground quickly if snipers are calling artilary.

Really low altitude seems to help me a lot when flying. Either hover 5-10 feet off the water/ tree line or dive down there from a higher altitude gaining a large amount of speed. This works really well on Isla Inocentes. Just sit far off the enemy base a few feet off the water and let the mini-guns have at it.

So I was dominated today by a heli pilot that was sickly good at killing everything in sight. Game ended with this guy going something like 37 to 1 kills. Decided I need to learn to fly.

After trying without a mouse, I found this post and wanted to share since it really helped out.

P.S. I have tried almost everything to alleviate this lag, even bought a new vid card, and no success. sucks

Game is by far the best money I have spent though!!!!!
