How to play?

Any sites with tips for noobs? Good servers where I will not get kicked for screwing up?
Not sure if I will be on Mondays or Tuesdays much, but the rest of the week.. probably 6pm PST or so for a couple hours.
Played the single player crap for about an hour to try and get the basics setup and get a feel for a completely different engine. Pretty wild to shoot at something and have it hit when aimed properly. Grenade launcher versus idiots on an ATV = LMFAO!!! Having guys on a tank see you through a window, and then firing the big guns at you = Ooops (otherwise known as: oh shit, the wall is gone, my hearing is gone, and I am bleeding to death).
Cool game!!!! Oh- I did have severe artifacting with my video.. thought my vid card had taken a crap! Looked around, found some tips, and then did a big, "DUH!" Checked Nvidia, and sure enough.. my drivers were pretty out of date. Running full up settings, OC'd MSI GTX275, and the shit is WICKED!!! Graphics and all make UrT look like a very outdated game. But, at the cost of the quick play that is UrT.

it took me a bit to get used to the MP, I played Single-player all the way through on medium difficulty and then again on hard.
Have you watched that video you posted a while back? "How not to be a noob?" lol
One good tip I can tell you is that rushing will get you killed, you need to creep around and stay out of open spaces. You start getting more kills as you learn the maps, I have only been playing the online for about 2 weeks now and im pretty much alot better and know all the maps pretty well now and where the enemy is gonna be.
Maybe play on some servers that are like 16max or so to start off with also, then move up to the 32 player madness!

yeah, it is pretty rough so far. Single player is completely boring, only played it for about 15 minutes. Played BF1942 for maybe a few days, did not like it that much. Grabbed the Desert Combat mod, and played it for a few months on and off. So, I am a bit lost in the BF world.
I see stuff on the ground.. like a med kit or something.. no idea how to grab and use; Hatchet was on yesterday, and paddled me back to life once, had no idea what had happened, lol. Not sure what the dog tag thing is, lost on the maps, weapons, items, etc. It seems like it would be simple enough to get the basics via Teamspeak3 with someone, but I am a bit hesitant to be a noob pest like that.
I must have really irked my squads yesterday since i had no idea what squads mean. lol... I know it is just a matter of "doing your time" in full on noob mode, learning the maps, weaps, items, etc.. it is trying not to piss people off while doing so that I am trying to figure. Wish i could have a nice noob sign on me just until i get the hang of things...

when you see med packs or ammo boxes, if you need health or ammo you just need to be in proximity of it and stay there for a few secs. you can usually tell who your squad members are by their names appearing larger and green (I think)
oh and you get dog tags by knifing them!

Yeah, got my first knife kill and dogtags yesterday =)
Ghozt- I finally levelled, and opened a few items to boot. I then figured how to drop ammo and med packs, and use them. No paddles yet, but I can try for my Dentist Pin! =)
