dual display single pc questions and ts

those of you running dual displays off of nvidia gpu's is there a way to have ts on the 2nd display without ut being in windowed mode or does it have to run off a different pc? in other words, can you have ut full screen on display 1 and display 2 showing the desktop background and ts at the same time?

if so, how do you have it setup?

i'd like to be able to have ts on the 2nd monitor and i can sort of get it to work, but everytime i connect to a server, the ts gets shifted off to the far side of the 2nd display and the gamma or brightness jumps up really high and it's almost blown out. if i turn the in game brightness down to a level that makes the ts on the 2nd display look okay the ut display is too dark to play.

what am i missing? i've tried all the multidisplay options within the nvidia drivers, but nothing seems quite right. i have a really hard time playing in windowed mode, but if that's what i have to do, is there a key combination that will give me mouse control outside the ut window so i can jump back and forth?

thanks in advance for any advice and for all the good times on your servers.

I used to use two displays so that I could have TS on one and play on the other. I had the same problem with brightness but it never moved. The first time I started TS it appeared on the main monitor and I just dragged iit over to the other. Each time I started it up afterwards it would be in the same place on the second monitor. I did away with the 2nd monitor and got Team Speak Overlay. So I have TS running in the background but to see who's talking TeamSpeak Overlay is just always there and running.

Try using scotch tape on a corner of the TS window in the second monitor! It works for me!

1) The gamma setting is being applied to the card, not the game. Even in windowed mode, you get the gamma offset applied to all monitors until you close UrT and it resets the gamma back to the previous (normal) setting.

2) That "shifting" of the windows is because the game, in full screen mode, is adjusting the overall screen res and in doing so, the windows are trying to maintain their (X, Y) position. Relative (X, Y) has now shifted due to fewer pixels per inch, until the game closes and resets everything.

AFAIK, I do not believe that in full screen mode, you can ~ and mess with your other monitors like you get to in windowed mode.

To better solve your UrT problems, invest in some of this.

Reflux, I don't think it was an UrT problem. The brightness on the second monitor would get wacky. UrT stayed as always. I think it would happen as the names on TS got shifted down as more people joined and then I would click on the scroll bar for TS the whole display would get really bright.
But thx for the link.

Billybeer, pushing the "~" key in the upper left hand corner of you keyboard (just below the esc key) allows you to move the mouse outside the UrT window. Also, you can custom size your UrT window to fit your monitor resolution...I had three monitors at one time and had Urban Terror sprawled across all three. It was a challenge to set up, and it slowed my FPS WAAAAAAAY down, but it was kinda cool. Now, I've chosen to run my dual video cards in SLI with one 22" monitor. I run UrT in a window that would be the equivalent of a 19" and then have TS2 and Xfire running off to the side. Either the tilde key or the "alt + tab" combination allows you to use the mouse outside the UrT window.

Hope that helps!
