Having said that, that being the smallest amount of anger on this topic I can let myself express, I have a suggestion to the rest of the UrT community. How about we ignore this asshat? When I was 12 and would throw a fit, such as this baby is doing, my parents would ignore me. It'd drive me insane, but eventually I would learn that bitching wasn't the best way to get attention. Somebody mentioned a few posts back about SaraNade returning. This is confirmed, playing under the name "Vertiga" mostly, @51758. Has two of the banned SaraNade's aliases. I have yet to catch vertiga hacking, but once banned, twice cautious about hiding hax I should imagine.

I've seen some other nicks that have characters in them that trip up B3. !list gives their b3 ids and from there you can !alias id# !warn etc as needed. You can probably get the / in your nick if you escape it with \ or something \/\/\/ to get three ///

Banme, are you sure the message when Love joined was about a temp ban? I know my sis would never hack, but I will search her computer for the hack files if you believe she was hacking. I also doubt she was a deliberate asshat, I've watched her play and although she's not a great player, she is decent, and fairly quiet and respectful.
And her name isn't a deliberate attempt to prevent aliasing, it's a tribute to a horse she used to ride, if the slashes are a real problem, I'll get her to change them.

can B3 balance teams when one of them has advantage in player numbers, and the other team has less caps that the winner?

for example, Red has 9 players and 4 caps, and blue has 10 players and 7 caps. can B3 give the extra guy to the looser team?

we get this stack many times, and no admin on server often, so we have to hang to stacked teams, cause no one changes.

I have considered updating the team balance code to account for the overall score. I'd have to make sure the teams didn't switch just because one team took the lead from the other, because that would "even" the playing field in a disturbing way. The person at the bottom could constantly get switched, which might look like asshattery, the admins step in....


Gladi8r said it well that ultimately the responsibility falls on the players. I do not think our admins should be micromanaging the server. Continually monitoring team strengths is a boring process and calculating a proper balance is difficult. If I'm specing I tend to only check for AFKs, ppl who are contributing negatively, and sometimes ask stronger players if they wouldn't mind switching. If I'm playing and it's becoming a blowout, I usually switch and go on defense to try to stabilize the losing team. At the start of the next round and teams have not changed much, I also sometimes ask the stronger players to switch to help even the strengths.

Boogie makes a good point about AFK/spec. Which is why it's a good idea for admins to occupy a 'private slot' to keep all 20 pub spots open for reg players. If you don't know how to get into a priv slot, ask another admin.

Yes, its a really good idea to use it all the time for admins, since it allows the full 20 pub players to join, and you may need to go spec to demo or perform other admin functions occasionally.
