Spec Cheating
$|SantaClauzzze, Sat May 30 2009, 08:00AMIv noticed that alot of players, after being sniped, join the spectators to find where the sniper and sometimes where the flag is. I just wanted to know how this is dealed with, if it is like haxing or if no one cares.

It is not hacking, but is extremely cheap, probably the cheapest anyone can get... Just another asshat who can't play the game normally.

IMO they should be given a warning and if they keep doing it then kicked.

Does not happen while an admin is present on the FSK Pub. Team swapping (unbalancing teams, not using autojoin, etc) gets a warning, then a kick, and finally (with me), a ban. 3 strikes, gone. Come to this forum with proper info (nick used, time of ban, map played, etc) and provide a valid reason and ban may get lifted.
Asshattery, IMO, disrupts the enjoyment of the game for others. Worse, for those of us who take admin responsibilities seriously and attempt to behave in a "Swiss" manner (impartial, and generally liberal), it is blatant, an act of taunting, and thus is rewarded accordingly.
Other FSK Server admins may feel differently, in part or in whole.
(BTW- this is one reason I do not play on the Superman server.. I have a feeling the ban list would be incredibly long after even one day)
If this is in reference to the Superman server, then please (in the future) state that it is what the post/thread pertains to, and post in the appropriate section of these forums so it can be addressed as such.

It's dirty pool. The sniper should be moving around anyway, so in theory it shouldn't make a difference. In practice, it's not fair play, and someone who does it regularly should be warned, I agree.

B-Ver, on behalf of the entire Superman crew, I invite you to take another look at the Superman server. It is no longer the wild wild west it once was. Because we have a large number of great admins and moderators, the riff-raff that once populated the server has learned that cheating and disruptive behavior is not only not tolerated, but dealt with instantly. It is unusual not find at least 2 mods/admins playing thus making everyone able to enjoy the game.
On a side note, did ya ever notice that the B-Ver and the BRC disappeared from the Superman server about the same time? Hmm..

I agree, it is dirty. Besides, on superman, it's pretty obvious what spots they're going to be in and pretty easy to walk up behind them and boot them properly (the snipers, that is) ;)

I actually jumped on earlier this week for about 5 minutes. The spam and such was too much for me. When the new version was in private beta the past few weeks, I spent more than a few hours playing. Fun map, but I would rather have t part of a cycle, and play other modes :D

B-I don't agree completely with that statement a good sniper does change places but i think they should stay close to one spot (its gotten me killed alot though !lol)
