Rumor Has It

I heard a rumor (unconfirmed) that STA may be split into two. There may be an A and a B division. The usual contenders for the championship in one division and the clans they usually roll over in another. This would make things more equal and fun for everyone. :)

dont know how i feel about that

it's like you have the L33T teams fighting to be the top dog, as all the others are trying to be the cream of the crap. Kinda anti climactic to be the cream of the crap.

Ya! im top Noob ;-)

Sorry to say, but this is yet another piece of why I LOVE our FSK Sunday Scrim.

Sure, some players will inevitably get picked first (almost) all of the time. But who cares? I could care less if I am picked last, as I know the teams will likely be pretty damn balanced, thus providing a bit of question as to who will win the match. I have seen upsets before with what might have appeared to be unbalanced teams that were picked. Plus, we get a variety of maps, not one map played two or three times.

I am sick as a dog, major sinus problem and running a damn fever.. and I medicated just right to be able to play for a couple hours. THAT is how much Sunday Scrim means to me, how much fun it is. I even stepped up as Capt for the last one! Almost fainted a few times, but it was worth it.

The only reason I care if STA remains is that I know people in FSK that really dig the STA experience. For them, I hope this resolves in a manner that unifies rather than dividing. I'll be there to help prior to any match.

Good points B-ver

After thinking about it a bit more.

- STA is and always will be the "PRO/unpaid" league, and should only have one devision.
- Unfortunatly no one is going to trust any league until there is a hack detection program. Just having a player tracking system isnt enough, its just another goal for a hacker to get around.
- Personally I think STA needs to figure out a honest way of selecting the teams that play each other each week, for the current system is flawed. This should be a automated system requiring no modifications by the STA Admins. Seasons past FSK has been about to make it into the finals as our opponent was changed at the last minute resulting in a much tougher team. Sadly this has occurred a few times, shattering our faith in STA. As STA's explanations was "Yes you should have played the team you were originally pitted against but, the other 2 teams that are at your level played each other already so we need to split them up. - I Mean What Kinda Crap is That? - again highly flawed weekly team selection process.
- If there are enough teams that have a desire to play in competition - Keep STA as a single devision Pro league, and use FTW -or- TWL as a armature ladder.

Just thought I would try to keep peple posted about some of the plans that are being kiocked around. Nothing etched in stone yet. I think they are trying to make it more competetive and fun for everyone. Good to hear your thoughts and for me, Sunday night scrim is the best.

Look at it this way. At least you know the winner of the B Bracket isn't a bunch of hax. Kinda like the winning teams this past season...

I went through all the forum posts last night at STA and didn't see anything about splitting into two divisions...Boogie can you point me to the post where you saw the suggestions?

I have a feeling one of his family members is a STA admin ;-)

I guess others shared dank's feelings and probably will be only one division. There may be a mercy rule in case one team goes up like 15 - 20 caps on another team they can invoke a 'mercy' rule and end it.
