Hey guys just an idea. How bout running a stock map rotation for a little while? I miss the algiers, abby, turnpike...etc...etc. What say you?

I know there's something in Docks that makes it incompatible with UrT 4.x, but it would be sweet to play that again.

I would like to say that, even though those maps are great maps to play at, if we keep playing 2 or 3 maps over and over again, it would get boring over time. In the end it would be overused...

FSK405 has a commitment to keeping it fresh and giving 3rd party maps serious play time. The current crop of SiD maps is long stale, IMHO. Including a few in a mapcycle is required to keep the server rolling, but if you really want to play lots of SiD maps...

I recommend going to other servers!

As stated above Frog and I are about to create a new cycle.. Seems like we have good success working together creating a balanced cycle. Algiers has been a staple in our cycle for years, as has turnpike aside from this past cycle. But with a 23 map cycle rotation i so no reason we couldnt add a few SID maps while still trying to push the envelope supporting the 3party map market.

pwnt, contrada, abbeyctf, once, ambush, casa, filtration (possible?), kingdom, midnight, prague, sanc, tombs, subterra, mastermind (one spawn had gym equipment I think? basketball court in spawn?)...

Wish horror was done and back. Would love to have a really nice FTL (afterhours dammit!), and a nice CAH in there (there was one that ruled.. spawn on each end, covered canals in an "X" with a center tall thing..eh..). Turnpike is fatally unbalanced and horrible for CTF IMO.

I actually like a pistols only, fast playing map. Citygardens would have been so nice minus snipers IMO. Heck, I might have to make a damn map.. nice one that is great for kicking people off buildings and such. There was a great, fast pistols map... Spawn inside in opposite corners, could climb up from spawn to roof, then there were walkways on the edges.. small and darker.. very cool.

Also, there was another map.. really dark, had metal music playing the whole time, really irritating.. but cool map...center structure , big tunnel opening in the wall to right of each flag (winds around, then continues under the map)..

oh- if this new league will include Bomb, then I think a bomb map is a must.. no? There was one that we had for Bomb that was almost like a staple..had a gas station for one bomb site.. (Aardtimes maybe?)

And Crossing is another cool one for CTF (Bomb is interesting on it as well.. sometimes :D)

I really like that blackmarket map. Very cool. I'm also a big fan of mastermind. I can't remember the name of my favorite pistols map. It's basically a building on each end with an underground network. Each has a window looking at the other's window, and the middle ground is a no man's land collection of small barriers with a pillbox in the middle. When we have it on all weapons, about three people from each team hang out in the respective windows with SR8's shooting eachother. Anyone know what map I'm talking about?

Wow thats alot of maps... How bout we start the monthly map requests again? I love the custom maps also dont get me wrong but there is nothing like a full server on a map like turnpike or algiers. I has been know to make my wiener get stiff. LOL! :D

Fokker and I spent some time going through maps today.
My new fav? ut_wxs2 (NOT 3), timelimit 20, caplimit 20, pistols and knives ONLY.
Oh- and Fokker? We played it with about 10 on a team after you left. Was AWESOME :D

- 22 maps
- 6 requested maps out of about a dozen "some requested unplayable"
- 6 New maps to FSK's Rotation "testing" (ut4_wsx2, ut4_blackmarket_beta, ut4_kellblack, ut4_crystalpower, ut4_herring, ut4_cemeterry666)
- kellblack - currently running a wave respawn in hope of making it playable. Looking for proactive ideas to make this map fun and playable. - dont bother to post if you simply dont like the map.
- Though some maps may not be best suited for the rotation, we try to find ways to play specific maps when we DJ the cycle.
- 2 old school ut maps.

Note for FSK's map cycle creation.
we try to push the envelope playing 3rd party maps while incorporating requested maps, additional game modes, limited weapon load outs, and standard maps.

Appreciate, your suggestions and input, if we dont add your maps this cycle we will try to add them to the next.

Good call on Laneway...

Herring seems to cycle out for some reason, but not consistently. Had several reconnects required both times the map has run when I was on recently.

Kellblack... several complaints during play yesterday. However, I did not cycle or even ask for a vote to cycle. It is a cool map, but unfortunately I have yet to see it actually be playable as CTF. As a C&H or FTL.. well... Even with a wave respawn, once someone actually gets to the other flag, getting back out is near impossible when decently skilled players are present.

Turnpike.. lol... I bitch about that one enough already. But, I will say it again- wickedly unbalanced. Red is as close to "cattle out in the open upon spawn" as can be. Sniper lane from blue flag, as well as that damn window. Players complained yesterday that were Red, as usual when more than 5 or 6 per side. I would sub Ambush or Prague.. but I know I am likely in the minority of those wanting to never see Turnpike again for CTF.

Cemetery666.. interestingly, fun map! Total clusterfaq, total chaos, but under that lies room for actual tactical bits.

Wsx2 is my new fav. Force it and Kellblack to mate and the offspring would be... :D

Otherwise it seems solid. Nuclear in Bomb mode drops some players, but during play, new ones come in. Bomb seems to always do that tho. The only thing I would like to see changed would be to swap Rumble and Turnpike. IMO, Rumble would be better in slot 1. Or, make Rumble slot 2, and then Casa, Sanc, Ambush, Prague or such in slot 1.

Just my POV... Lots of great, great maps.. and classic maps.. that are unplayable, broken, etc. With what is left, you guys come up with great cycles. Wish Spider's old map (pistols only) was working, and the old CAHOS map (Wily I think?), Filtration, Horror, Zero, Afterhours, and PGrounds (stupid spawns!).
