Urban Terror Connection
[$E]Heroine., Fri Jan 09 2009, 08:39PMSo normally, my connection is fine, 99 and less ping. But I get on today, and it's 800-1000 and I didn't change anything. It's basically like watching a slideshow. When I brought down console it said "Delta something too old" or something like that. My brother was playing my other brother earlier, but I don't think he did anything. Can anyone help me? =[

The first and easiest possible solution to all computer problems: turn everything off, leave it off for a few seconds, and then start it up again. In this case, because it involves your Internet connection, you should restart your modem/router as well as your computer.
If that doesn't fix it, make sure that nothing else is running which would interfere with UrT and your Internet connection. This especially includes things that eat up your network bandwidth, like bit torrent, streaming video, major updates and patches. A virus or worm can easily use up all your network bandwidth. A firewall or antivirus product can screw up performance too. If you don't know what these are or how to deal with them, then you have some reading to do.
Or there could be a router between your computer and our server that is screwing up, and there may be nothing you can do about it. Run a tracert between your computer and www.fsk405.com to see if there's some router somewhere that's screwing up your connection. If there is, it is possible that this is a one time problem, and the network operators will fix it and everything will go back to normal without you having to do anything at all.

Always leave autoscan for viruses off and do it manually. Same with windows update and antivirus update. If any of these kick in while you are playing you will think you are on a dial up.

Heroine, if your computer crashed and you're doing a fresh install have you checked device manager and made sure there are no alerts that something is not working right? Are all the drivers for mother board, usb, etc. installed?

also get a decent Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, and a Firewall. I use AVG Free 8.0 for Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware. my Firewall is ZoneAlarm. I've been using AVG and it hasn't failed me yet, and do scans every week, thats wht I do and that is what keeps my computer in tip-top shape for 5 years.

Go to this website and do a bandwidth test and tell us what number u get. It will compare you to average connection speeds. Right now my internet is crawling and i only got 77.7kbps I normally get in the 1000-1500kbps range. Urbanterror is imposable to play right now

It did this infinite cycle, saying do safe mode, normally. blah blah.
So it took us about a week to find the XP CD. But muh daddy fixed it, now it works sexily.

If it wont load windows on any mode, find your XP CD. and fix the problem.

Pray Its not hardware failure. If you've put in anything recently ram, graphics card, etc put in what you had before and try.
If not do what tranc3r said
