Unban Please
, Tue Jun 29 2004, 07:22PMGot a little problem here... seems that my buddy got me banned from your server, FSK. He doesn't have his own machine, and he isn't very bright either. He and I play Urban Terror all the time, but he's a bit more hard core then I am at the game.
We've always used the name Billy in every server we go to... but now I'll start using Daft Punk and he'll use Billy... that way it'll be easy to discern who is who. Anyways... can I ask that you unban me from your server? I'm not sure what he did to get us banned... probably did something stupid like TKing... but I will have a word with him about it.

If I were you:
I would check by box for whatever he installed on it. Then I'd create a non-privledged account for him to use.
Just so you know... The ban is for a non-standard cvar setting. Why was that added?

Cvar? You mean he's been using a cheat like timenudge? I mean... I'll check out his config but I didn't know he used anything like that. So let me know what I need to look for and I'll get rid of whatever is on his config.
As for the non privledged account... I'll look into that, but it'd be a hassle if anything. I'll just make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble again like this.

Hmm simple and unjust terms... but ok. I totally understand, even if it's an uncool policy, I didn't even know there was anything bad on my configs, and now I can't even get a second chance.
Oh and Ghost, I shouldn't have to prove to you that my friend exists, I should get the benefit of the doubt. Just because you know alot of lying scumbags, doesn't mean you should catagorize me in with the rest of the riff raff.
If anything at all, this case, and probably many more before mine that I don't know about, should have been looked at and handled more delicately and with more compassion and understanding.

Maybe I should have been more delicate on the subject of asshats that cheat. Maybe keeping the ban on you is unjust. Maybe tomorrow pigs will fly.

I'm very much a legit player, who has a friend who has always seemingly played legit. He says he had no idea himself, and the config that he was using he recieved from an online friend.
It was his poor choice in friends, not my poor choice on who goes on my computer. And now it's your poor choice to insult me and mock me in an obvious childish manner.
All in all, I'm still going to insist on my ban being removed, because I'm an innocence being charged as guilty. That's all there really is to it.

Could you please enlighten me as to how that can possibly happen? Then, once that step is complete, you can help ensure our many players that people like you really don't mean to have cheats enabled. It's laziness, right? Not malice? You cannot be serious. At least this can be a lesson in how laziness mutates into malice no matter how smooth the road to hell is.
