cheats are getting pretty annoying....,but I feel it would be a step back and I would vote no...just my .02cents and im not sure how everyone else would feel. you would have a tough time getting all the newbies to go back to 3.7

As for the superman server i would think about trying the PB/io version again but the last time i made the change it KILLED the server. I think allot of the old school players deleted their Quake version and there is allot of new folks playing the stand alone that dont have a copy of quake. Then theres also the PB lag (thats better than the hackers)
As for the hackers on the superman server there is only about 5 guys that keep coming back ruining it for us all. I just wish the DEV team would at least get off their ass's and get the banning function working properly!!!!!!!!! Kinda makes the game pointless when you allow hackers in..

As for Zellis - Yes there is a io stand alone version that most servers are running that has NO anti cheat. Or there is the Quake 4.0 version that still has Punk Buster support. The down side to the Quake version is -(you need to have Quake installed) and ther is (PB lag)
Considering i have thought about shutting the Superman server down due to all the bitching about hackers that i cant deal with due to NO ANTI CHEAT! Running the PB version might be the best option even though we will lose a bunch of folks that don’t have quake. But then again i might be able to get both running and allow the public to decide

dank - for a 3 solution, cant you simply ban or block the 5 guys from the server its self? I'm not talking a game related ban, but a IP ban when they try to connect to your server but get block by the firewall. I'm not sure if its possible but its an idea. Ghotz? dank? other network guys? is this a possible workaround?

PS. For those without Q3A, I think I've seen that it's being sold on steam now for $19.95.

Krom...higher FPS with io? Haha. I used to get up to 300 fps or better with PB and now I get about 20-40 something. Thx IO. It fluctuates higher but during heavy graphics that all i get.
