My 10 year old son was tricked, Please Help
Capt-Skidmark, Tue Jun 22 2004, 09:52AMHello FSK, as you can look at my profile I have been with a clan for a long time and I know all about the prestige and honor of being invited in. My son and I play a lot online together but me being a Federal Firefighter I'm on shift 24 on and 24 off. The other day when I was at work he was playing online using my (Dad's Super Computer) and someone he was playing with invited him to be an FSK and told him to rename himself to FSK405-BlackCAt. He was playing and using this name for a bit and was feeling pretty big headed about it all and even calling me at work and bragging about being an FSK member. Low and behold I came home the next day and found out that it was a hoxe and that now my computer is band from playing on FSK servers. Please except my appology and please allow my son and I to continue playing with FSK since it was one of our Favorite servers. Please forward any info you can. I haven't checked it personely but my son says that when he trys to play on any FSK server he gets a message saying that he's banned.

Dude. Yikes!
We'll check the reason for the ban and fix it if it's broken! Sorry to hear that happened. I must ask: Who 'invited' him. It was probably some 'who-knows' maroon but the name would help put the ban in the proper place.

Thanks, I will do some more investigating. I'm not sure how the server "banned" works but if it involves my isp number or something, please fill me in on how to unbann. :?

Bans are issued from PunkBuser or an Admin. In this case it seems as though the FSK405 impersonation drew it as it should have. There were two bans and both have been lifted.
In the future, use pretty much any name you want as long as it's not FSK405 or in general bad taste. And the name of the person who 'invited' your boy, can he recall that? They probably need a boot. ~:(
