Superman Cycle

Dear Dank and Wily Duck,

Please remove the team deathmatch and Capture and Hold cycles from the Superman server. I've played several sessions daily all summer and I hear almost nothing but complaints, especially because we can't vote back to CTF. We were given voting rights last week but they were shut off again after match play. So people play through two halves of CTF, during which we accumulate players. Then TDM or C&H rotates in and most people leave. If there are people in there during these cycles, it's usually to generate the 100 points needed to move on.

There are a few that like the cap and hold, but not many that I've seen and more, it seems, out of curiosity than any real love of the game.

I'm also one of the founding members of FSK405 so I'm mildly sad that I'm not on the list that frog maintains. I'm sure A or B will vouch for me. If you need more refs for the Superman server, I'll volunteer.

Otherwise, rock on.

oh, people are really curious about bomb mode on Superman, but I heard there were some cycling issues. Any news?

I second the motion... It seems everyone drops out as soon as the cycle change occurs. If it's TDM people jump ship fast. If it's C&H they leave slowly. If it's CTF players join and stay.

I agree, the other modes aren't nearly as fun and I usually leave the room also.

Thanks for the input.. Wily Duck did us a favor for updating Superman to 4.0, Along with implementing CAH, FTL, and Bomb mode. Knowing Wily Duck is going to update Superman (maybe once more) – I wanted to help out and test the other game modes to attain feed back to improve any flaw. (note: tough to find a flaw in a perfect map) I understand none CTF games might not be your thing, but if you have a constructive opinion about the other game types please post your thoughts. As of now we are testing the game types to implement improvements and gain feed back for the next version. Not to mention some of us enjoy some change…

Sure thing Dank,

TDM is nothing more than spawn wars on the map. I recommend if that is going to be in the cycle that spawn points are random. Example blue and red spawns are situated at different map points all over the map. blue and red can spawn from same point... that way you don't get the noob camp frenzy...

C&H no real issues with it just not as fun as CTF.

Bomb Mode sounds fun but haven't had a chance to play it on the map yet.

Oh btw. Superman is by far my favorite CTF map ever made. Thx again to Wily for the time spent and tweaks...

Bomb and CaH are still fun IMO. In the next version I want the top of the military to blow off with the bomb... we'll see though.

Hey we could always go old school and do 40 caps for teh win. :)

YES!!!!! CTF 40 caps no time limit!! 10 caps are too low for superman.

on CAH maby you could consider droping the CAP limit from 100 to 50.

Yea i sure did like the 40 cap limit. Now that there's hot potatoe, it shouldn't be a problem. People would stay on the entire 40. It might take a couple hours, but we're all hardcore Superman players. If we play the map over and over again... why not a high number? Keeps peeps in the map longer 'cause their afraid to leave and miss who wins.

I personally hate having to wait for the map to load up again after a 10 cap limit...

going to play some superman now! woot!
