11 years agoSat Apr 28 2012, 11:02PMLevel 10WOW! Thank you Wily, EZ, FSK and everyone who participated! How much fun was that?! (don't answer - it was a rhetorical question!)
I am grateful and privileged to be part of this 'premiere' community. Warming up on that other pub server acted as a stark reminder (not that I needed one!) of how great the FSK servers (and people) really are.
So what happened between last year and this that the scores got so close between Red and Blue? Fluke? Or have players adapted and overcome the previously under exploited map advantages? Someone who played both please share your thoughts!
Hats off to Truth's team of thugs who put up an awesome fight today against team #1. Close games!
Boogie's team had the largest point spread of the day - nice job Boogie and crew. But you're all going to need to bring your A game again next week if you think you stand a chance to win it all this year!
GGS! -
11 years agoSat Apr 28 2012, 11:36PMLevel 10Can I answer anyways.... It was TONS of fun and I even had the wooden spoon =( "Cougar it could of been worse had you been in my shoes =P" BUT honestly for me it isn't about the score, its about the fun and the awesome people I game with... A great group of guys and gals, thanks everyone for what you do... I almost had to pull out the tissue box when Wily was saying his speech because EVERY word is true, without all of you wonderful people "and Wily it wouldn't be possible... So thank you everyone that participated.. =)

Level 10Thanks to everyone involved in facilitating this signature Urban Terror event. Lots of work went on behind the scenes to make this happen, and it showed.
First, hats off to team #1 for an excellent battle. Sorry we had so few players show up for our team – thanks to those who were kind enough to substitute to even teams. And special thanks to EZ and GreenEyes for joining us in our time of need.
Now, here is my take on the epic matchup between team # 1 AceTone and team # 2 Truth:
Rd 1 Truth blue, AceTone red
The first round started off extremely quick. Blue captured two flags in the first minute of play, and we thought we could steamroll a number of caps together, but red brought a flag home in the second minute. Blue answered quickly however, and stretched the lead to 3 – 1.
At that point the momentum shifted, and red began to defend their base like a bunch of well-armed, foul-tempered honey badgers on steroids and meth.
Eight minutes in, red had tied the game at 3 captures a piece, and we then had our first flag standoff.
I was holding the flag outside the back corner of our base for a tense but uneventful couple of minutes.
Nobody had found me yet, I hadn’t seen a single enemy, and for some reason I took a stupid pot shot at the first red player I saw, in the air halfway from his arrow to Doom.
It was my dumb luck that I plinked him out of the sky, because he must have spotted me. Seconds later, Dankrider showed up like the previously mentioned badgers and turned me into spaghetti sauce before returning his flag.
Fortunately we returned ours at almost the same time, but they pressed the attack and stole the lead with fifteen minutes remaining. 4 – 3 red.
The next seven minutes was a blur of red asskicking. With just eight minutes to go, red had stormed to a commanding score of 8 – 3. We were losing hope, but knew if we could keep it close there was at least a chance of making it up in the next round.
Desperation forced us to new efforts, and we whittled away at their lead while time was running out, somehow recovering to 8 – 7. Red managed a standoff with two minutes remaining though, and wisely ran the clock out for the first round win.
Rd 2 Truth red, AceTone blue
Sides were swapped, and now we had the difficult task of making two extra caps on red side for the overall victory. The action was again instantly fast paced, and only 90 seconds into the match red made the first cap. We already had the point we needed to tie, one more ahead and we could do it!
Within just 60 seconds, blue brought us back down to reality with back to back flag runs. Score 2 – 1 for blue less than three minutes in.
Ten minutes into the round the score stood at 4 – 3, and that’s where it would stay. Blue recognized our mathematical dilemma and returned to their honey badger defense for the remaining fifteen minutes, knowing that a stalemate was a win for them.
I had a great time participating and can’t wait to see how this turns out.
Great job team AceTone – give ‘em hell in the finals!

11 years agoLevel 1Lets hear it for the organizers, they really stepped up the effort in making this years Compedium match a really enjoyable one!
I have to say all teams are as competitive as they can be, with well-balanced capacities all around the board.
Finally, I'm very anxious to see the demos recorded from everyone to really get the feel of the game from every perspective. I saw moves, jumps, kills, caps, etc.. that i sure wish i could relive from the eyes of those who made those awsome ninja moves!
Looking forward to spooning out the heart of each one of acetone's crew on saturday!
Cheers,
claw
